S-Game clarifies Phantom Blade Zero is not a soulslike game
Chinese company S-Game has clarified that their game Phantom Blade Zero is not a soulslike game. This distinction is important as it was never part of the original plan for the game, and this becomes evident to anyone playing the demo. Unfortunately, the demo is not yet ready for a worldwide release.
Inspired by Soulslike games, but with unique features
Although the team behind Phantom Blade Zero drew inspiration from Soulslike games, they have incorporated unique features to set their game apart. The focus is on an electrifying combat system that emphasizes combos, chaos, rewards, and excitement. While the influence of FromSoftware games is evident, Phantom Blade Zero offers a different gaming experience.
According to S-Game, the game features maps with multiple layers, various paths, and hidden secrets similar to Soulslike games. However, the similarities end there. Players can choose difficulty options and will not have to deal with respawning enemies or interact with checkpoints.
S-Game has also clarified that there is no exclusive agreement with Sony for the release of Phantom Blade Zero on PS5 and PC. This decision was made by the company independently.
