Hideo Kojima praises Sandfall Interactive
Hideo Kojima praised Sandfall Interactive, the producer of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as a studio with the perfect scale, unlike his own Kojima Productions that has grown to over 200 employees. Kojima says he prefers to work with smaller teams, which leads him to express admiration for Sandfall, made up of “only 33 members and a dog. That’s my ideal when creating something with a team.” According to the Japanese creator, game production has become a “battle of how efficient you can be with a small team, but you have to make it grand.”
Expedition 33 development team
Despite the numerous compliments given to Expedition 33 for being made by such a small team, the truth is that the game was created by many more people who do not work at the studio. Between 30 to 40 people work at Sandfall, but many others worked on Expedition 33, people scattered around the world, including many who worked only on something specific.
Kojima Productions and team size
Perhaps the most surprising thing in Kojima’s words is discovering that his studio is home to over 200 employees, putting it on par with some of the largest studios in the world.
