Jack Black is a highly beloved actor by the public, having participated in a series of very popular films.
Interestingly, the actor is very knowledgeable about the film adaptations of video games: in addition to voicing Bowser in the Super Mario movie, he will also play Claptrap in the Borderlands movie.
In an interview with Inside Total Film, the Borderlands movie is mentioned and this is what Black said:
“I love voice acting. I also love that game, so it was fun to be able to voice that character.”
“He’s a cool, fun twist and another opportunity to bring a great video game to the big screen,” he continues. “We are in the midst of a resurgence of video game movies and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
At a specific moment in the interview, Black was asked about the games he would like to see adapted into a film; in response, the actor mentioned what will surely be the biggest games from Rockstar: GTA and Red Dead Redemption.
“I can’t believe they haven’t started making a movie of any of Rockstar’s games yet – Grand Theft Auto, but especially Red Dead Redemption,” he says. “These games are already kind of like a movie, you know? I think that’s it. Some video games are already halfway to telling that kind of story, and there are some movies that are like video games.
