After years of being doubted by the gaming community, Bloober Team claims to have finally gained acceptance in the horror gaming industry. The positive feedback from the Silent Hill 2 remake has shifted public perception of the Polish studio, who are now preparing to release their upcoming title, Cronos: The New Dawn.
Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Success
Throughout the development of Silent Hill 2, the team faced skepticism, especially from die-hard fans of the Konami series. Many doubted Bloober’s ability to tackle such a classic game. However, according to Jacek Zięba, director of Cronos, the success of the remake marked a turning point for the studio. “We proved people wrong,” Zięba stated, highlighting their newfound position in the industry.
Future Projects and Pressures
Konami has confirmed their ongoing collaboration with Bloober Team, approving a remake of the first Silent Hill. Additionally, the studio is focused on their own projects, such as Cronos: The New Dawn. This game draws inspiration from Resident Evil and Soviet aesthetics of the 80s, set in the team’s hometown of Krakow.
Despite their improved reputation, the team acknowledges the weight of high expectations. Zięba recognizes the pressure, viewing it as a natural part of the process. Lead writer Grzegorz Like emphasizes the studio’s commitment to continuous improvement. “Every game release is a learning experience for us. We aim to keep evolving,” he stated.
