In the recent years, the world of video games has witnessed a remarkable evolution, and a crucial component of this revolution is the rise of gaming monitors. While in the past gamers were more focused on the power of their systems, the importance of monitors cannot be underestimated when it comes to providing a truly immersive and competitive gaming experience.
The AOC AGON AG275QZ: A Gaming Monitor Made for Gamers
A few months ago, AOC launched a new monitor – the AOC AGON AG275QZ – and, over the past few days, I had the opportunity to experience it from two different perspectives: in terms of work, creating various content for the site, but also in gaming. And, overall, the product is extremely successful.
From an aesthetic point of view, the screen is not large but not small either, creating a fair middle ground that allows it to be placed on any desk. With a 27-inch size, it mixes red and black colors in a very elegant way that, together with the brand logo, creates a futuristic-looking package that never goes over the top. As expected, the monitor has a small system that allows you to adjust its height.
Good Image Quality and Fast Response Time
But what really matters in analyzing a monitor of this nature is its performance, and the AOC AGON AG275QZ was essentially designed for gamers who want a beautiful yet smooth experience. The monitor has a 2K resolution and an IPS panel that offers superior image quality and sharpness, revealing the smallest details; moreover, the device boasts an impressive refresh rate of 270 Hz, which will attract extremely competitive eSports players thanks to its faster 1ms response time.
I was able to try out some games on the monitor – Fortnite, Rocket League, Need for Speed Unbound – and all of them ran flawlessly on the monitor, with the frantic action of the different titles not experiencing any hiccups or complications. The monitor itself comes with various modes that automatically configure it for specific game types, such as FPS, RTS, racing, among others.
The monitor is not revolutionary, but it does what it should do
Overall, I have no major negative points regarding this monitor; there is nothing truly revolutionary, but at the same time, the monitor does what it should do – and, more importantly, it does it well. My only caveat is the fact that the monitor does not have built-in speakers, so you will necessarily have to use other peripherals to be able to hear sound.
Don’t forget to check out more information about the AOC AGON AG275QZ on the brand’s official website. The monitor can be purchased for around €650 (price varies from store to store).
