Darrell Gallagher bids farewell to Xbox and The Initiative
After seven years at Xbox and The Initiative studio, Darrell Gallagher has officially left his position. The departure comes following the cancellation of the Perfect Dark remake, a project that faced internal obstacles and was ultimately scrapped about two months ago.
A Bittersweet Farewell
In a post confirming his departure, Gallagher expressed pride in the achievements of the team during his time at the studio. Despite the early end to this chapter, he remains grateful for the opportunity and the support received from partners and the community.
Failed Negotiations and Final Halt
There were talks of selling the project to another publisher, such as Take-Two, but disagreements about long-term ownership led to the negotiations falling through. With this alternative off the table, the production was definitively halted. Gallagher, who previously worked at Crystal Dynamics, now says goodbye to a studio that had a shorter journey than initially expected.
