Sand Land takes players on an exhilarating RPG journey filled with action, highlighting the significance of the friendships forged during the adventure and emphasizing the bonds between the characters. Developed by ILCA and published by Bandai Namco, this action RPG is inspired by the manga series of the same name created by the legendary Akira Toriyama in 2000.
### An Epic Adventure
In Sand Land, players assume the role of the Demon Prince, accompanied by his loyal companion Thief and the courageous Rao, as they embark on a quest to find the Legendary Source hidden in the unforgiving deserts. The game immerses players in a barren world where water scarcity is a constant struggle for both humans and demons. Along the way, they will face challenges, uncover secrets, and navigate through a vast and mysterious environment.
### Unlikely Alliances and Exciting Gameplay
The alliance between demons and humans may seem unlikely at first, but as the adventure unfolds, it becomes a necessary collaboration in the face of shared adversity. The game not only focuses on the power of friendship but also offers an engaging plot that influences gameplay. From facing bandits and wild animals to navigating the open world using vehicles, players are in for a journey full of surprises and challenges.
One aspect that truly stands out in Sand Land is the vehicle combat. With a variety of options available, from Tanks to Bikes, Hovercrafts, Jump-Bots, and more, vehicles become the true stars of the game. The thrill of using and upgrading them adds another layer of excitement to the gameplay experience. However, despite the many diversions the game offers, there are certain flaws such as inconsistencies in team partner behavior that may disrupt the overall experience.
Immersive Storytelling
On the other hand, there are standout moments, such as the storyline, which unfolds solidly and balanced with the choices we make along the way. The way we interact with the characters is remarkable, largely due to the depth of the dialogues that aim to strengthen bonds with individuals who could initially be considered enemies. These connections are established convincingly, and we feel the growth of these bonds throughout the adventure.
Visual Experience
Visually, the game is quite solid, with Unreal Engine 5 doing its job well. The cartoon style used is suitable, and the desert area is artistically well constructed, while the characters receive impeccable attention. However, when we enter greener areas, the visual quality is reduced. The lack of details and the absence of elements end up leaving these areas with a sense of emptiness, without the same shine found in other parts of the game.
