The Embracer shared an updated number for the sales of Dead Island 2 in its latest financial report. Since its release on April 21, 2023, more than 3 million units have been sold. The game was declared as the best launch ever for Deep Silver. In the first month, over 2 million units were sold, with an additional million sold between June 2023 and March 2024.
Celebrating the first anniversary of Dead Island 2 in early May, Dambuster revealed that more than 7 million people have played the game. The game is available on Game Pass and this number could increase in the future with a new version. Embracer also announced in August 2023 that Dead Island 2 will be released on another platform, potentially leading to even more sales, although the specific platform was not specified.
