Okami 2 has been officially announced during The Game Awards, a direct sequel to the original game released in 2006.
Its creator, Hideki Kamiya, reveals to be thrilled with the public’s reception to the game, stating that he cries when watching “react” videos on YouTube.
“Even now, I look at the reactions on YouTube to the announcements and see people reacting to the video, and I find myself crying with the fans,” Kamiya told IGN. “And I am so happy to see that people are so happy to see this game become a reality.”
Kamiya left Capcom to help found PlatinumGames, but has always expressed the desire to work with his former bosses again to create more Okami games. Now that Kamiya has left PlatinumGames, he is free to fulfill that wish.
We still know very little about Okami 2, including release date, platforms, story, among other information. Check out the sequel’s trailer above.
