Exploring Bethesda’s Legacy in the Amazon Series “Fallout”
The Bethesda studio is widely recognized for its expansive and intricate RPGs, as well as its tendency to release games with numerous bugs. This has almost become a trademark of the American studio, and players have come to somewhat anticipate amusing errors in their games.
Departing from Bethesda’s Bug-Prone Reputation
However, the upcoming Amazon series “Fallout” will not be following in the same footsteps. When asked if the first season would feature references to Bethesda bugs, producer and showrunner Graham Wagner clarified that this will not be the case, despite considering the idea.
Wagner reminisced about his experiences playing “The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall,” highlighting a memorable moment where he encountered a game-breaking bug. While this idea was discussed for inclusion in the series, it was ultimately decided to save it for a potential second season.
And I thought, can we put this in the series? And not in the first season, but it’s definitely in my mind as a concept. (…) We just want people to accept this world and not be pushed out of it, because it’s a tough task. It’s a very crazy place and we just want people to be captivated first before we mess too much with the series.
