Review of Gru – Despicable Me 4 Performance
Gru – Despicable Me 4 has been out in theaters since the end of June in various countries, with premieres in Brazil, Spain, Canada, and the United States on July 3rd.
Initial reports suggest that the movie has grossed over $27 million in the US, bringing its total box office revenue to $52 million, with the potential for even higher numbers. However, further data is needed to confirm this.
Critical vs Audience Ratings
Early premieres in the US during a key weekend fell short of expectations, as indicated by the average rating on Rotten Tomatoes from both Illumination and Universal Pictures.
Currently, Gru – Despicable Me 4 holds a 53% average rating among critics, lower than the 58% of Gru – Despicable Me 3, which previously had the lowest rating in the series. On the other hand, the audience ratings paint a different picture. While Despicable Me 3 received a 53% average rating among critics, it scored a 90% among audiences, making it the best-rated film in the series.
