Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled surpasses sales expectations
Thomas Wilson, director of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, publicly shared that the game sales have exceeded expectations and talked about the much-desired PC version, which was never in production.
According to Wilson in his conversation with Youtuber Canadian Guy, Beenox did not expect to sell 10 million units, but they are very happy with it. A PC version could help sell even more, but it was never in the plans of the producer.
Challenges of developing a PC version
Wilson said that a PC version would require a team dedicated solely to that work, something they did not have because Activision sent those employees to help with the PC version of Call of Duty games, so they didn’t even think about it.
Wilson mentioned that there was no budget for a second team and considering the extra effort to create anti-piracy and cheat mechanisms, they didn’t even mind staying focused on consoles.
