The Last Destination – Descendance: A Box Office Success
The Last Destination – Descendance made a big splash last week in movie theaters, as a highly anticipated horror film that did not disappoint in terms of ticket sales. Along with “Sinners,” it is showing how horror films have a strong appeal to audiences.
In its first days of release, The Last Destination – Descendance from New Line Cinema grossed nearly 91 million euros, placing it among the top premieres of 2025 and in the top 10 box office results in the first 5 months of this year. Of that total, over 12 thousand euros were collected in Portugal.
With the release of The Last Destination – Descendance in theaters, Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* lost its title as the most-watched film, but still managed to surpass 290 million euros in global box office earnings, edging closer to the 368 million euros earned by the latest Captain America film.
In Portugal, Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* has collected over 554 thousand euros to date, half of the 1.2 million euros earned by Captain America: Brave New World in national cinemas.
Warner Bros.’ Sinners continues to make waves, with nearly 280 million euros in box office earnings, very close to Thunderbolts* and already enough to rank among the top 5 results of 2025 to date.
Of that 280 million euros, Sinners collected over 464 thousand euros in cinemas in Portugal.
