Interview with Troy Baker
In the first trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6, only one word was uttered by one of the protagonists, Jason. It may not be much, but it was enough for players to be convinced that it was said by Troy Baker, known for his role as Joel in The Last of Us.
However, in an interview with the YouTube channel The Movie Dweeb, Baker denied the theory.
“He only says one word! – Baker responds, somewhat shocked. – “He says ‘trust’. […] This is a big lesson for me, a lesson in perception. People think and assume automatically. And I want this guy – whoever he may be – to be recognized for his work because I’m sure it will be great.”
“I’ll take it as a compliment, especially if they think it’s good and associate me with it.” You can see all of this for yourself in the video above, with Baker commenting on the fact that many people think he’s in every game (an opinion shared by Todd Howard) and how he prefers it when his voice isn’t recognized.

The actor also talked about his participation in The Last of Us, sharing his best memories of working on the franchise, and also praised his co-star, Ashley Johnson.
