At the Tokyo Game Show 2023, Capcom revealed exciting new details about Dragon’s Dogma 2, offering players a sneak peek into the game’s features. Director Hideaki Itsuno delved into the initial Vocations, shedding light on the character classes and gameplay elements of this action RPG.
Four Vocations were introduced – Thief, Fighter, Mage, and Archer – each bringing its own unique combat style to the table. From close combat expertise with a one-handed sword and shield for the Fighter, to ranged attacks mastery with specialized ammunition like explosive arrows for the Archer.
Mages are all about long-range magic, providing healing and support abilities, but needing longer enchantments for their advanced spells. Meanwhile, the Thief relies on quick strikes and evasive maneuvers post-attacks. Additionally, the Mystic Archer wields magical arrows, offers healing and support, and possesses an ability that inflicts localized damage.
The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is split into two regions: Vermind, under the rule of the Arisen who conquered the Dragon, and Battahl, a city constructed atop ancient ruins and governed by the Beastmen. Environmental interactions enhance gameplay, allowing players to utilize explosive barrels to harm foes and trigger water floods. Missions may see players accompanied by other residents and Pawns, NPCs offering quests and aid.
Excitingly, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is slated for release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
