Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail Launch Issues
Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail had a rather turbulent start, with many players reporting numerous issues.
Game director and producer Naoki Yoshida posted a message addressing the issue, apologizing for the launch problems surrounding Dawntrail, which entered early access last week.
Apologies and Solutions
Yoshida acknowledges two main issues: some Xbox Series X/S players experiencing loading hiccups in new areas and some PS5 players temporarily unable to log in.
Regarding the Xbox version problems, Yoshida says they are working on a “high-priority fix and it’s still being addressed by our engineers. We need time for the fix and validation, and we ask for your patience until we reach a resolution.”
Compensation for Players
As a way to apologize for all these issues, some Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail players will receive free game time. Both Xbox and PlayStation players will need to meet two requirements, namely having registered the full version of Final Fantasy 14 and having an active subscription by July 4, 2024.
In terms of free game time granted, the site indicates that Xbox players will get 10 days, while PlayStation players will only get 2 days.
