Predator: Badlands, the upcoming movie in the iconic series, took an unexpected turn of inspiration from a PlayStation classic, Shadow of the Colossus. Director Dan Trachtenberg revealed in a recent interview that video games, like Shadow of the Colossus, played a significant role in shaping the movie’s direction.
The Influence of Shadow of the Colossus
Trachtenberg shared, “There’s something about the horse in Shadow of the Colossus that is devastating when you play the game. So, Predator: Badlands was a bit inspired by that, in terms of wanting to see the Predator with someone, this character who is his opposite. He is very laconic, she is not.” Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatang star as Thia and Dek, respectively, showcasing an unlikely alliance between a young Predator and an android in theaters this November.
