Starfield: A Decline in Players on Steam
Starfield was a huge success for Xbox and Bethesda, but the player count has been decreasing on Steam, being surpassed by another game from the studio.
Today, November 14th, about two months after the release of Starfield, Skyrim Special Edition has managed to surpass the space RPG in terms of the number of players currently playing the game.
As of the time of writing this news, 12,321 players are playing Starfield; meanwhile, 13,954 are playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. These numbers come from SteamDB, and you can see them below.
It’s worth noting that Starfield is not only available on Steam – notably, the game is also available via Game Pass; the previous data only pertains to Steam. It’s also worth remembering that Bethesda itself stated that six million people played the RPG one day after its full release, making it “Bethesda’s biggest launch ever.”
Interestingly, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is also available on Game Pass, so it’s always possible that a similar “battle” is taking place on that platform.
Are you still playing Starfield?
