As April comes to an end, we are about to complete 4 months in 2024, allowing us to create a list no game developer or publisher wants to be on – the one with the worst game releases of the year. According to Metacritic, there are already strong contenders for the worst game of the year, with even free games not being spared.
Throughout this year, there have been highly acclaimed games released, games that have been completed by millions of players who were left amazed by the power of the interactive experience they encountered. These are titles that are on wishlists waiting for an opportunity, either due to time or money constraints, games that are still being discussed months after their release, while others have already been forgotten.
The list may surprise some, but it includes popular publishers and easily recognizable properties worldwide. These are likely games that were quickly forgotten by those who played them, but for others, they serve as a warning of what to expect.
This page will be updated frequently as more games with overall lower ratings in 2024 are added, so stay tuned.
Update November 25: New names added to the list, titles like Suicide Squad, Foamstars, and Skull and Bones have been removed from the list of the 10 worst games of 2024 to the list of the 20 worst.
Still on the verge of the list are names like Kong: Survivor Instinct, Reynatis, South Park: Snow Day, Endless Ocean Luminous, and Unknown 9.
In the meantime, share the games you played in 2024 that disappointed you. Also, let us know if you played any games on this list and whether you agree or not.
