Microsoft Employees Protest Against Contracts with Israel
Recently, several Microsoft employees were arrested during protests at the company’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The protests were carried out by the group “No Azure for Apartheid” to oppose Microsoft’s contracts with Israel.
Peaceful Protests Turn Aggressive
According to reports, the first day of protests was peaceful, but things escalated on the second day. The Redmond Police intervened after protest group members allegedly vandalized Microsoft signs, created barriers with stolen chairs and tables, and tried to block a pedestrian passage.
Despite the arrests and intervention by authorities, people participating in the protests remain firm in their stance against Microsoft’s contracts with the Israeli government. They claim that cloud technologies provided by Microsoft are being used to assist Israeli forces in conflicts with Hamas.
