HBO eyeing Mark Rylance for Dumbledore role in Harry Potter series
HBO may have found the actor for one of the most important characters in the Harry Potter series.
We are talking about Albus Dumbledore, the beloved headmaster of Hogwarts school, who was portrayed by two different actors in the film saga: Richard Harris and Michael Gambon.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. is eyeing Mark Rylance to play Dumbledore in the new series. The studio has not entered negotiations with the actor yet, but has reached out to assess his interest and availability.
Rylance has appeared in several films, most notably in Bridge of Spies, for which he won an Oscar. He has also been part of movies like Don’t Look Up, Ready Player One, and Dunkirk.
