Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater may have been the highly anticipated release of last week, but it seems that the Japanese gamers had a different favorite. Bandai Namco’s new robot game, Super Robot Wars Y, stole the spotlight with over 91,000 physical units sold in the first days of its release in Japanese stores. Even though Metal Gear Solid Delta for the PS5 managed to sell over 63,000 units during the same period, it was still overshadowed by the success of Super Robot Wars Y.
Japanese Sales Figures
Metal Gear Solid Delta saw a peak of 19,000 players simultaneously on Steam, while Super Robot Wars Y wasn’t far behind with around 15,000 players. This outcome shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the popularity of robot games in Japan. Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar also performed well, selling close to 65,000 units combined for the Switch and Switch 2 versions, making it the 3rd best-selling game overall.
