The Disney+ revealed that X-Men ‘97 has become one of the best premieres on Disney+ in the category of long-form animated series. According to the company, since August 2021, when “What If…?” premiered, they have not achieved such a strong premiere with an animated series.
Available through the first two episodes, each lasting 30 minutes, X-Men ’97 was viewed 4 million times in the first 5 days, according to Disney’s official information.
The company says it calculates a view by dividing the viewing hours by the duration.
In addition to generating excitement with its premiere, X-Men ’97 sparked interest in the original series from the 90s, with views skyrocketing 522% since the first trailer for X-Men ’97 was released in February 2024. Fans started watching or re-watching the original series to stay up to date with the events.
After “What If…? Season 2” in December 2023, X-Men ’97 is the latest animated series from Marvel Studios and the latest effort following the live-action series Echo in January 2024.
