Gameplay Length and Features
Julian Gerighty, director of Star Wars Outlaws, has revealed that the game will offer a 25 to 30-hour adventure on the main path, with 50 to 60 hours needed to complete everything. This decision was made early on in development, with a focus on creating a game that could be enjoyed within a reasonable amount of time, even for those with family and job commitments.
Development Choices and Challenges
Gerighty mentioned that Star Wars Outlaws will not be as lengthy as an Assassin’s Creed game, which can last up to 200 hours. The development team opted to prioritize certain features due to their smaller size, such as excluding swimming mechanics to streamline the gameplay experience. This allowed them to concentrate on creating a more cohesive and polished game.
Anticipation for the Full Experience
Despite some negative feedback on the gameplay reveal, Gerighty advises players to withhold judgment until they experience the full game. He emphasized that the demo showcased only a small portion of what the final product will offer, including open-world gameplay elements that have yet to be unveiled. The team is working diligently to deliver a satisfying and immersive experience for players.
