The Saudi Arabian investment company Qiddiya has acquired RTS, the company behind EVO, where the biggest fighting game tournaments take place. Muhannad Aldawood, from Qiddiya, shared the news on LinkedIn, revealing that the organization of EVO is now in the hands of a Saudi company.
EVO’s New Owner: Qiddiya Takes the Helm
In late August, India’s NODWIN acquired Sony Interactive Entertainment’s stake in EVO, but now Qiddiya has taken over. The specifics of the deal and transaction values are still unknown, but Qiddiya had previously worked with RTS as a global partner for EVO 2024. It seems like they have experience in organizing global-scale fighting game events.
