Blizzard reintroduces loot boxes in Overwatch 2
Blizzard has decided to bring back loot boxes to Overwatch 2, which were removed from Overwatch in 2022. This change comes with the arrival of Season 15 on February 18, 2025.
Transparent rewards probabilities
The loot boxes will be available as rewards for events and weekly challenges, and players can also earn them in the free battle pass. Blizzard guarantees at least one Legendary item in the free tier and two for those who pay. The company aims to be transparent about the rewards probabilities, ensuring a rare or better item in each box, an epic item every 5 consecutive boxes, and a legendary item every 20 consecutive boxes.
