Lauren S. Hissrich, the showrunner of Netflix’s series The Witcher, discussed Henry Cavill’s departure from the production, suggesting that the actor preferred to focus on other roles. Hissrich stated, “He had plans for other roles that he really wanted to dedicate himself to and for us, we don’t want to keep and force someone to do something they don’t want to do. I think that’s why it felt like a very symbiotic decision,” in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
New Geralt of Rivia and Season 4
In 2022, Cavill’s departure from The Witcher series was announced, with Liam Hemsworth emerging as the new Geralt of Rivia. Cavill expressed excitement to see Hemsworth as the new version of Geralt, experiencing new adventures in Season 4 of the series. Alongside Hemsworth, Laurence Fishburne and Sharlto Copley are the main additions to the cast of The Witcher Season 4, scheduled for release on October 30 on Netflix.
