Final Fantasy 16: Mantendo a Identidade da Série
In a new interview posted on the official Square Enix website, Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy 16, shared that he spoke with the series creator about the strong changes made by the team and obtained the approval from the “Father of Final Fantasy.”
Asked about how challenging it was to do something so new and still maintain the series’ identity, Yoshida said he spoke with some of the key figures related to the series and received a strong dose of support.
“It’s something that Mr. Sakaguchi, the father of Final Fantasy, and Mr. Kitase, the brand manager of Final Fantasy, told me: Final Fantasy is what the director responsible for the latest game thinks is the best game, the best story at that time.”
Focusing on Graphics and Polish
“If you create a game with those points in mind, then it’s a Final Fantasy, so there’s no need to feel restricted by what came before. Once they told me that, I felt that it wasn’t a particular challenge. Of course, we hesitated and thought things over, but I wouldn’t say it was a challenge. Once we decided on something, that was what mattered.”
Hiroshi Minagawa, art director, added that they focused on achieving the best possible graphics and reaching a high level of polish, with immense detail to dazzle fans.
