The Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega appear to be keen on keeping up with the fast pace of releases in the Like a Dragon series, formerly known as Yakuza. Following the launch of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii in February and Yakuza Zero: Director’s Cut in June, there are indications that a new remake is in the works. This new Kiwami title is expected to offer enhanced versions of the initial games in the series, catering to new fans. According to details found on the producer’s website, Ryu Ga Gotoku Kiwami 3 is currently in development, hinting at the imminent release of Yakuza Kiwami 3, a remake of the third game in the series that was originally released in 2009 for the PS3. After two games on the PS2, the Yakuza franchise made the transition to the PS3 in 2009 with this third installment, which retained elements from its predecessors while introducing several noteworthy innovations. As the Tokyo Game Show 2025 is set to take place at the end of September, it is possible that Yakuza Kiwami 3 will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
