CD Projekt Red to Lay Off Around 30 Employees
CD Projekt Red is set to lay off about 30 employees due to the slowing down of development on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.
In a message posted on the official Gwent website, shared by IGN, the Polish company stated that around 30 employees from the game’s team will be leaving due to adjustments in the support and development scale related to this specific project.
Previously, CD Projekt RED mentioned that a small team would remain to support Gwent and the remaining employees would be reassigned to other teams to bolster the development of other projects currently in progress at the company.
Now, a company representative told IGN that four employees will be laid off in June, with more to follow throughout the year until reaching a total of approximately 30 departures.
CD Projekt RED stated that it is not easy to lay off employees, but it is a process that is part of team and project restructuring.
