Electronic Arts is gearing up for the future of the Battlefield series, with CEO Andrew Wilson announcing that the largest team in the series’ history is working on new experiences. The collaboration involves various EA studios, including Motive, DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect, aiming to expand the Battlefield universe in multiplayer and single-player modes.
Motive, known for their work on the Dead Space remake and Star Wars: Squadrons, recently joined the Battlefield development team, enhancing the creative force behind the franchise. During EA’s quarterly earnings call, Wilson expressed excitement about the progress made by the collective teams, highlighting the impressive scale of the project. He also emphasized significant advancements in building what promises to be another innovative “live service.”
With Battlefield 2042 Season 7 – Turning Point marking the end of content updates, EA is looking ahead to the next chapter of the series. While details about the upcoming Battlefield projects remain under wraps, EA’s plans to release two unannounced games in its fiscal year ending in March 2025 suggest a lot of movement for the Battlefield series.
