Bethesda and Virtuos release update 1.2 for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
The Bethesda and Virtuos have released update 1.2 for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, available for all platforms. The main focus is to introduce new difficulty options and fix various technical issues reported by the community.
Adjustable damage levels and interface fixes
One of the most important changes is the ability to adjust the damage caused by the player and the damage received separately, with new levels such as Novice, Journeyman, and Master. The creation of the Journeyman level, in particular, was designed to make the transition between Adept and Expert modes more balanced, according to those who felt there was a significant difference between these two levels.
The update also brings various interface fixes, such as issues with commands, AZERTY keyboards, and the display of menus in specific resolutions. Several bugs that were causing the game to crash have been resolved, including crashes when facing certain enemies or during interactions with spells and visual effects.
Performance improvements and restored Dark Brotherhood door
In terms of performance, the update improves stability in various areas of the map, optimizes the rendering of elements such as shadows, water, and particles, and reduces loading times in specific situations. Animations and textures have also been adjusted, with fixes on characters, collisions, and objects like helmets and weapons.
A curious detail that wasn’t mentioned in the official notes has also been fixed: the famous Dark Brotherhood door has been restored to its original appearance, with visual effects and the presence of the five child figures, recovering a symbolic element from the original 2006 game.
