Crystal Dynamics Confirms Job Cuts
Crystal Dynamics, the developer behind Tomb Raider, has recently confirmed that ten employees have been let go as part of an internal restructuring.
Embracer’s Restructuring Efforts
The announcement was made on Crystal Dynamics’ official platform X account, stating:
“Crystal Dynamics has made the difficult decision to part ways with 9 brand/marketing employees and 1 IT employee today as part of an internal restructuring to align the studio with our current business needs. We are working directly with the affected team to fully support them.”
Earlier this year, Embracer, the company that acquired Crystal Dynamics from Square Enix, revealed plans for a restructuring program that involved the closure of certain studios and the cancellation of projects.
Just recently, Embracer announced the closure of Volition Games, the studio behind Saints Row, and there have been reports of layoffs at Beamdog and talks of selling Gearbox, the studio responsible for Borderlands.
