Well, it looks like Intel is going through some major changes! The company just announced plans to lay off a whopping 24,000 employees by the end of 2025. That’s a lot of people losing their jobs, unfortunately.
Big Changes Ahead
Intel is not only cutting jobs, but also backtracking on projects in Germany and Poland, and shutting down operations in Costa Rica. It seems like they’re really shaking things up to try and stay afloat in the ever-changing tech industry.
According to reports, Intel had over 109,000 employees by the end of 2024, but that number is expected to drop to 75,000 by the end of 2025. The company’s CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, admits that they made some serious mistakes by investing too much in new factories without the demand to support them. So, downsizing seems to be the way to go to meet customer demands.
