Activision’s Confidence in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta Results
Low Rate of Cheating
Activision is confident in the results of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta. The company reported that almost 99% of the matches took place without any kind of cheating, a number that sounds surprising given the series’ history with cheaters.
Anti-Cheat Measures
Activision mentioned that swift action is taken when someone attempts to cheat the system, with 97% of cheaters being banned within 30 minutes of the first sign of suspicious behavior. This is achieved with the help of the anti-cheat system Ricochet, which operates at the kernel level, detecting hacks before the game even starts.
Despite these efforts, some have concerns about Ricochet operating at the kernel level, raising questions about privacy and security due to the sensitive access it requires. With the official release of Black Ops 7 set for November 14, the beta served as a good test of the anti-cheat system’s effectiveness against cheating.
