Approval of Activision Blizzard Acquisition in South Africa
South Africa is the latest country to approve the purchase of Activision Blizzard without any restrictions on Microsoft’s objectives.
The competition authority in South Africa has decided to approve the acquisition of the owner of Call of Duty without any restrictions and will provide further clarifications on its decision at a later date.
With this approval, Microsoft has received the green light from nearly 40 competition authorities around the globe. Only in the United Kingdom and the United States is it facing resistance to its plans.
While preparing for the appeal in the UK court, Microsoft is defending itself against the Federal Trade Commission in the United States, in a trial that is making headlines due to the various revelations made in the courtroom.
