The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: No Season 2 Planned
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered on Disney+ in early 2021 as one of Marvel Studios’ initial efforts on the streaming subscription service. Three years later, the company has yet to announce a second season of the series, which is unlikely to happen, leaving Anthony Mackie disappointed.
Mackie’s Desire for Season 2
In the series, Mackie appeared as Captain America alongside Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, characters set to return in future Marvel Studios films. However, this does not necessarily mean a new season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is in the plans.
Recently, the actor expressed his wish to work on a The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Season 2, especially because he enjoyed working with Stan and Daniel Bruhl. However, with Disney’s new focus on Marvel Studios, this may prove to be challenging.
Mackie regrets that the new focus likely means The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will not return, but he will continue to portray the new Captain America in his upcoming movie and in Avengers films.
