The latest Direct was filled with Mario goodies, from re-releases to a brand-new tennis game, but it didn’t stop there. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
First up, we have some news related to a ticket for the 40th anniversary of the Nintendo Museum in Japan and a reminder about the Mario theme park at Epic Universe in Florida. But let’s get to the video game news! Or rather, movie news. Yes, we have a name for the sequel to the Mario movie, officially titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and a first trailer.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Two of Mario’s best adventures, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, are being bundled for the Switch and Switch 2 – so if you want to relive the good old days or experience them for the first time, here’s your chance. The package digitally arrives on October 2, with a physical release to follow, and two Mario Galaxy-themed amiibo are also planned for next year.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Switch 2
Fans of Mortal Kombat on Switch 2 have a lot of retro action ahead. The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which includes a variety of classic fighting games from the series, along with a look at its history, will hit the Nintendo eShop on October 30. The physical release is set for December 12.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, the first game in the Square Enix Final Fantasy Remake trilogy, is coming to Switch 2 on January 22 next year, with pre-orders already available on the eShop.
Hades 2 Switch 2
Hades 2, the sequel to the highly acclaimed original roguelike adventure from Supergiant, is finally leaving early access and will arrive on Switch 2 on September 25. That’s the eShop release, but if you want a physical version, it arrives on November 20 this year.
New Game Releases for Nintendo Switch 2
The fruit matching puzzle game Suika Game Planet is coming to the Switch and Switch 2 next winter, with GameShare support for the latest Nintendo console.
Exciting Titles to Look Forward To
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, featuring Samus on a bike, has a release date set for December 12, 2025, with three confirmed amiibo. Donkey Kong Bananaza DLC offers fans a return to DK Island with new challenges and modes, available now on the Switch eShop along with a demo of the main game.
Upcoming Games and DLCs
Pokémon fans can expect new games like Pokemon Pokopia and Pokémon Legends Z-A with paid DLCs. Danganronpa 2 and Dynasty Warriors: Origins are also set to arrive on the Switch 2 next year. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and Resident Evil Requiem are among the terrifying titles coming to the Switch 2 in the near future.
