Assassin’s Creed Shadows Tops UK Game Launch in 2025
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has become the biggest game launch in the UK in the first three months of 2025. According to Chris Dring, based on Gfk data, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has outsold Monster Hunter Wilds by a significant margin and has sold more in one week than Star Wars Outlaws did in three months.
Comparison to Previous Releases
Despite its success, Assassin’s Creed Shadows falls short of the sales achieved by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which was released in 2020. While Dring did not disclose specific numbers and only referenced physical units sold, Ubisoft officially announced that over 2 million players have already registered in Assassin’s Creed Shadows within the first few days.
In terms of physical sales, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the biggest UK game launch this year, comfortably ahead of Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s also sold more boxed copies in 1 week than Star Wars Outlaws managed in 3 months.
