Gearbox Software and Take-Two Interactive are celebrating the success of the release of Borderlands 4, which has surpassed the previous game in the main series. Official numbers have not been disclosed yet, but according to Chris Dring from The Game Business, Borderlands 4 had a better debut than Borderlands 3 in Europe. Dring mentioned that “in Europe, Borderlands 4 sold more than Borderlands 3. Borderlands 4 also sold roughly the same number, in the same timeframe, as Ghost of Tsushima.” Without specific numbers, we can’t determine the exact difference between the two Borderlands games, but considering that over 5 million units of Borderlands 3 were sold worldwide in the first month, this suggests good numbers for Borderlands 4.
