The plans for additional content in Borderlands 4 have been revealed by 2K Games and Gearbox Software. Players can look forward to a new “Story Pack”, seasonal content, and exciting free updates.
Endgame Progression and Challenges
Once you finish the main story, you’ll enter the endgame phase where you can tackle weekly challenges, unlock specializations, and take on the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode. This mode offers five unlockable difficulty levels without the need to replay the campaign. By completing mission challenges, you can increase your rank and enhance your gear with exclusive Firmware upgrades.
Exciting Updates and DLC
In addition to weekly Wildcards missions for legendary rewards, there will be spooky seasonal events in October, November, and December with new legendary weapons and cosmetics. The “Bounty Pack 1” DLC is also set for release during this time, introducing a new boss, missions, vehicle, legendary gear, and cosmetics. Further content updates are planned for 2026, including the release of “Bounty Pack 2” and the first Story Pack, “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned”.
Ongoing Content Updates
Beyond March 2026, Borderlands 4 will continue to receive paid Bounty Packs, the second Story Pack, and additional boss encounters. The game promises to keep players engaged with a steady stream of new content and challenges.
