Craig Duncan named new head of Xbox Game Studios
Craig Duncan, who has been the director of Rare since 2011, will be the new head of Xbox Game Studios, succeeding Alan Hartman, who is retiring after a long career at Microsoft. Duncan brings his extensive experience to oversee various Microsoft studios and projects, while Hartman steps down after leaving his mark with projects such as the development of the Forza franchise.
Joe Neate and Jim Horth to lead Rare
With Duncan’s departure from Rare, Joe Neate, executive producer of Sea of Thieves, and Jim Horth, a veteran with over 20 years at Rare, will take on the role of co-leaders of the studio.
This leadership change comes at a time when Microsoft continues to expand its presence in the market, with titles like Fable and Avowed on the horizon.
