Demon Slayer: The Infinity Castle shatters records
Demon Slayer: The Infinity Castle has achieved a remarkable milestone in cinemas, surpassing the box office results of all superhero movies produced by Hollywood.
On September 30, the new Demon Slayer movie reached a staggering $617 million at the box office, surpassing the $615 million mark set by Superman, the first film of the new era of DC Studios in cinema, directed by James Gunn.
This figure also far exceeds the best result of Marvel Studios in 2025, achieved by Fantastic Four which grossed $521 million during its theatrical run, surpassing Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts.
Marvel Studios facing fierce competition
With this impressive result, Marvel Studios now only has one movie among the top 10 highest-grossing films in cinemas this year, specifically Fantastic Four. With highly anticipated films like Avatar 3 and Wicked 2 on the horizon, Marvel is at risk of not having any movie among the top 10 results of 2025.
