Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle breaks box office records in Japan
The success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is surpassing the achievements of Mugen Train and making history in Japanese cinema. The film, which is the first of a trilogy based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s work, has broken several records in its first weeks in theaters, grossing nearly $120 million so far.
Popularity on the rise
With over 12.8 million tickets sold, the film is already the 14th most-watched in the history of cinema in Japan. Despite not reaching the impressive numbers of Mugen Train, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle continues to attract audiences and achieve new milestones.
Although still far from the over $237 million earned by Mugen Train, the success of Infinity Castle places two films from the franchise among the top 10 of all time in Japan. The journey of the Demon Slayer is far from over and still promises to surprise at the box office.
