Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas VR Development Suspended
The development of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for virtual reality has been suspended indefinitely, as confirmed by Meta to IGN. The project, announced almost three years ago during the Facebook Connect event, was being developed in partnership with Rockstar Games for Meta’s virtual reality device.
Uncertainty Surrounding GTA: San Andreas VR
GTA: San Andreas VR was supposed to bring a new dimension to the gaming experience, following in the footsteps of Resident Evil 4 VR. However, with no timeline for the resumption of development, we’ll have to wait and see if the project is relaunched in the future.
Implications for Take-Two Interactive
The decision to suspend development also raises questions about Take-Two Interactive’s future plans in the virtual reality domain.
