On October 14, 1999, Sega released the Dreamcast, which would become their last console. Despite the unforgettable memories brought by its games, this beloved console marked a drastic change in the company’s business.
With over 9 million units sold and more than 600 games released in less than 2 years, the Sega Dreamcast featured some of the most acclaimed titles from the company, including Shenmue, Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Sega Rally 2, and Virtua Fighter 3, among many others.
Known as the pioneering console for concepts like online gaming and additional content, it was also home to games like House of the Dead 2, Time Stalkers, 18 Wheeler, Chu Chu Rocket, SoulCalibur, Space Channel 5, Sega GT, Samba de Amigo, Skies of Arcadia, and Virtua Tennis.
For children and teenagers at the turn of the millennium, the hours spent playing on a Dreamcast are unforgettable, making it a console that is dearly missed.
