Microsoft Gaming Dominance in the Video Game Industry
Microsoft Gaming currently holds the title of the largest publisher in the video game industry, earning the highest revenue from game sales worldwide. The latest Ampere report reveals that approximately 447 million euros were spent on Microsoft Gaming games and digital content across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms in December 2024. Among the top contributing titles to this revenue are Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, both of which had significant releases during that month.
PlayStation Platform Driving Revenue for Microsoft Gaming
An interesting trend highlighted in the report is that the PlayStation platform is the leading revenue generator for Microsoft Gaming, accounting for 64% of the total money spent on their games in December 2024. This is particularly evident in the success of Black Ops 6 on PlayStation. Microsoft Gaming’s performance surpasses that of Electronic Arts, the second-place publisher, who earned around 352 million euros with popular titles like Madden NFL 25 and FC25.
