What’s Next for Elden Ring?
FromSoftware is gearing up for the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring, their highly-praised open-world action RPG. This expansion is set to be the only one for the game, but that doesn’t mean the end of the road for Elden Ring.
Possibility of a Sequel
In a recent interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of the Japanese developer, mentioned that while Shadow of the Erdtree will be the only expansion for the game, there is still a possibility of seeing Elden Ring 2 in the future. The game’s universe may continue to grow and evolve beyond the upcoming expansion.
Expanding the Universe
Bandai Namco has hinted at Elden Ring being just the beginning of a new intellectual property that could extend beyond just video games. With the collaborative efforts of George R.R. Martin in building the world of Elden Ring, it would be surprising to see the universe confined to just one game. Whether through a sequel or other creative endeavors, the world of Elden Ring may have a lot more in store for fans.
