The team at Remedy Entertainment, known for their immersive single-player games, decided to try their hand at multiplayer with FBC: Firebreak. However, this three-player cooperative game is struggling to attract players.
Despite being available on PlayStation Plus for PS5 and Game Pass for Xbox Series, FBC: Firebreak has only drawn in less than 1.4 million players. The Steam community, in particular, seems to have largely overlooked the game.
Out of these players, approximately 800 thousand are on Xbox Series, over 541 thousand are on PS5, and just 54 thousand have tried FBC: Firebreak on Steam. This pales in comparison to Rematch, which has already amassed 3 million players since its release on June 19, 2025, just two days after FBC: Firebreak. Both games are live-service titles launched in the same week for the same platform, highlighting the fierce competition in the market.
SteamDB data reveals that FBC: Firebreak had a peak of less than 2 thousand concurrent players, while Rematch almost reached 93 thousand. Currently, around 50 thousand players are enjoying Rematch on Steam, compared to just 132 players in the world of Remedy’s game.
