Treyarch’s Development Strategy for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Treyarch has revealed that the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Game Pass influenced the final stages of development. The teams aimed to ensure the game is accessible to a wide range of players who will be trying it out.
Focusing on New Players with Game Pass
The influx of new players, particularly those unfamiliar with the Call of Duty franchise, through Game Pass is seen as a positive challenge by the team. However, they needed to carefully balance introducing new content without overwhelming newcomers on launch day.
Yale Mille, production director at Treyarch, stated, “With Black Ops 6, we considered the gap in time since players last experienced a Black Ops game. Whether it’s the Zombies mode, with its intricate mission structures and compelling narrative, there are many players who are new to this type of gameplay experience.”
